Warren FitzGerald was born in 1973. Since graduating from Warwick University he has been a professional singer and worked with children and adults with disabilities. He has undertaken several voluntary projects overseas, one of which is documented in his memoir/travelogue Gringos in the Garbage. His debut novel The Go-Away Bird was first published in 2010. It won an Amazon Rising Stars Award in the same year and in 2011 was longlisted for The Authors’ Club Best First Book Award. It was also Waterstones’ Book of the Month in October 2011. Warren’s first non-fiction work 'All in the Same Boat' has been optioned for the screen with Warren himself as the screenwriter. His second non-fiction work 'Breaking Dad' is a collaboration with the subject James Lubbock and it too has been optioned for the screen. 'An amazing story.'
