Terry Drabant is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy, class of 1965. He was not commissioned due to a Judo injury. He retired from IBM after 29 years as a division vice-president when IBM sold their Federal Systems Division to Loral Corp and joined Loral the next day as a company president. When Loral sold its business to Lockheed Martin, he became president of Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and a corporate vice-president. Following his second retirement from Lockheed Martin in 2004, he founded a consulting firm and then founded a venture investment firm specializing in mid-stage IT companies. He retired the final time in 2020. He has served on two not-for-profit boards, three industry association boards, two university advisory boards, and six private for-profit company boards and lectured on Character and Leadership at the US Air Force Academy, the University of Colorado, the University of Maryland, IBM, Loral and Lockheed Martin. He has been a mentor in character and leadership of current and future leaders throughout his career. Terry currently lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and continues his involvement in the Air Force Academy Foundation.
