While living in England, Richard Harrison launched the iconic Australian franchise Jim's Mowing in the UK, before becoming a cricket umpire, officiating matches across Kent and Sussex. His many gardening disasters (while operating his own franchise in Sevenoaks) are recorded in his laugh out loud memoir - 'The Export Gardener.' After returning to Australia, he continued his cricket umpiring career, this time in Victoria's Premier Cricket competition, where he had the privilege of standing in matches that featured some of the world's best female cricketers. Sixteen years in the middle provided him with countless stories, any number of challenges, and some very memorable moments. Richard captures his remarkable dual-hemisphere cricket odyssey in his wonderful memoir - 'Stumped - One Cricket Umpire, Two Countries.' Written with great warmth and engaging humour, Stumped offers readers an insider's view of cricket's culture on both sides of the world. All told through the eyes of someone who has witnessed the evolution of the women's game from a unique vantage point.
