PGA Dave is a Specialized Class A PGA Instructor: professor, international coach, professional photographer, product designer, and author. A two-time Distinguished University Faculty Member of the Year he brings over 20,000 hours of college and secondary teaching experience—and a lifetime passion for Japanese culture and golf instruction. Having lived in Japan for years, known on the driving range as the “Bowtie Pro,” PGA Dave has spent more than a decade teaching both group and individual lessons, blending golf performance with simple body awareness, on-course practice, and a quiet, attentive golf presence rooted in Zen focus. Now in San Diego, he and his wife Yumiko of 27 years are raising their teenage daughter, Hana December.
