After teaching history for 44 years at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly known as University of Missouri, Rolla), I have retired. My books deal with subjects as various as seventeenth century Puritans and Quakers, the history of my university, and, increasingly, on the history of Las Vegas. My next book, to be published by the University of New Mexico Press, will be about Moe Sedway, a gangster who played a key role in the development of Las Vegas in the 1940s.
