WRITER’S NEWS I have recently published a book titled Short Stories & Poetry Plus* (Jerilyn K. Johnson). It would make a great gift because of a variety of themes, including serious topics and humor. This is available in paperback, hardcover on Amazon, Kindle and Audible. In 2022, I published two poetry books: A Poetry Collection, Etc.! Revised and A Poetry Collection, Etc.! TWO. I started writing and illustrating The Sleepy Centipede in 2018. For children ages 3 to 7, it is a fun and amusing story about a klutzy centipede. The book teaches basic math skills. I am revising Complexities: Damn the Vows and will likely revise the sequel, (Complexities; The Pink Diamond Necklace). I admit, I have learned some lessons along this writing journey! I trusted someone to proof/edit the first novel, not realizing the result was poor. I think the story is a good story, but I have found the delivery needs work. I have also unpublished the sequel, and will review it before I republish both novels. BACKGROUND Jerilyn Johnson was born in a small town in Pennsylvania. She and her brother, Gerald, were close in age. Their adventures helped her to discover an interest in nature and exploring their community. This often led one or the other into many adventures. Her interest in writing, was encouraged through a high school teacher, and several college classes in journalism. Jerilyn worked for several small town newspapers and eventually became an intermediate copywriter in a Canadian national in-house advertising department. She earned one degree in Education and one in Fine & Graphic Design. Her interest in the arts was also developed through study and work experience. As an artist, Jerilyn has painted murals, taught fine art and illustrated a children's book, "Bettina the Bold,” by Fiona Page. (Amazon lists this book with Fiona's biography, "My Night Life is Twenty-four Seven.") Jerilyn renewed her efforts to write in 2014, publishing and illustrating a humorous 'guide' to a hobby—playing the casino. "Casinoing, How to Play or Keep Your Money," and in 2016, published, "The Dancer's Garden Coloring Book, Vol. 1. (Jerilyn has always loved dance and the performing arts.) She began writing "ComplEXities Damn the Vows" in the summer of 2015, and plans to publish the revised by 2027. Several of her books are available on Amazon and/or Kindle. Jerilyn continues a life long interest in creative discovery.
