Claudia Marcucetti Pascoli was born in La Spezia, Italy, where she lived until the age of thirteen. She later moved to Mexico City, where she learned Spanish and has lived ever since. After earning a degree in Architecture in 1992, she founded Euritmia Arquitectos Asociados, a leading architecture and design firm in Mexico City. In 2002, she left architecture to devote herself fully to writing. Since then, she has published the short-story collection ¡Lotería! (Bingo!, 2003); the novels Los Inválidos (Les Invalides, 2005), Heridas de agua (Water Wounds, 2012), Donde termina el mar (Where the Ocean Ends, 2018), and Fuego que no muere (Undying Fire, 2022); as well as the essay collection Apuntes de viaje (Travel Notes, 2014), and the interview volume De lecturas y vidas: 80 entrevistas sobre el poder de los libros (On Books and Lives: 80 Interviews on the Power of Reading, 2017). She has contributed to numerous print publications, including the newspapers Excélsior and Milenio, as well as magazines such as Playboy, Marie Claire, Vogue, Soho, Condé Nast, Chilango, Central, and Open. She has also collaborated extensively with digital media and television. As a cultural promoter and literary journalist, she created and hosted Cambio Literal for ADN40, a television program dedicated to exploring how books have transformed the lives of public figures. She currently leads the literary segment of the news program ADN Noticias on Mexican television and writes a literary column for Excélsior.
