Bobbi Waterman was born Robert David Waterman Jr. and grew up in the town of Gales Ferry, Connecticut. As this whole book is about the author, here are some things about me that are not in the book. I do not like pickles or cucumbers, which are pre-pickles. My dad and I shared a common element; we each accidentally set ourselves on fire. I used to be the senior warden for an Episcopal church in Cocoa, Florida. My favorite pie is fruit mince which, in the U.S. we call mincemeat, even though there is no meat in it. I have a lot of brain memory taken up with Monty Python quotes…a lot of memory. If there is bread pudding on the menu at a restaurant, I am legally required to order it, though that is probably not enforceable. I once donated a lot of money to a religious school because my dead wife came to me in a dream and asked me to do it. My favorite fruit is a tie between blueberries and tomatoes. Turtles are my spirit animal. For answers to other questions such as: What was it like to be in the firing room when Challenger exploded? or Which countries was I not allowed to visit as a trans woman? or When did I realize I was a woman? Please read the book.
