Amy Hill Hearth (pronounced HARTH) is a Peabody Award winner and New York Times bestselling author best known for Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years, the runaway bestseller adapted to Broadway and film. Hearth's role in the film was performed by Academy Award-winner Amy Madigan. An unusually versatile writer, Hearth has written novels as well as nonfiction, and books for adults as well as younger readers. Her 11 books, which have been translated into nine languages, have won many awards. Her publishers include Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Blackstone, and Doubleday. Her most recent book, Silent Came the Monster, is an award-winning thriller about the series of shark attacks in 1916 that inspired "JAWS." Hearth lives at the Jersey Shore with her husband and their rescue dog, Oliver Twist (Ollie), a Boston Terrier and Pug mix.
