Turns out there are monsters in the world. Why couldn't my midlife crisis involve a new hairstyle? I went from ordinary working gal to demon killer. Sounds exciting? Not really, seeing as how I got fired from my job, my apartment was trashed, and the cops think I'm involved in something shady.

Learning magic isn't easy. Being told I'm some kind of rare reaper witch would be awesome, except for the fact I can't use my magic unless I'm threatened. When I'm scared, my instincts kick in, but it's very clear I'm no hero. Heroes don't run from danger.
