Caroline is 13 years old when she and her family decide to spend Christmas at the idyllic Wilson's Inn in Canada. Five years later, she returns to the inn to confront the place where the tragedy happened. There, she meets Jonathan Wilson, who is three years older than her. With his help, Caroline seeks to uncover the truth about the avalanche. Along the way, she becomes embroiled in the Wilson family's own struggles and is given a task that requires her to rediscover the joy of Christmas ...
