Imagine what lies beyond this world, where we might all find ourselves when we die. The veil between this world and the next is thin, but the path that leads from it to final rest is too appealing for most to continue than retrace and come back. Sometimes, only love can bring someone back from that place, can make them want more than what the path beyond the veil offers. One little girl must make that choice, must decide which life is worth living more than the other.

This is a paper that I wrote very early during my undergraduate work, and I cannot promise that it is very good, but it does give a fair overview of what the Aztecs faced in their final days, at the hands of Cortes and his men. The Aztecs stood up against immeasurable odds, fighting whom they believed, at first, were their gods, finally returned to Earth. When they realized their error, it was too late.
