Labienus hat den Plan, das Vertrauen der Bevölkerung Lutetias zu gewinnen, deshalb stellt er den Einbrecher Stupidix an, der überall Dinge stiehlt. Die lässt Labienus dann am nächsten Tag den Lutetianern großzügig zurückgeben, doch haben die Unbeugsamen diesen Plan durchschaut.
