  • “I was on fire, trapped in a burning tank… and nearly stayed” - Karl Hinett
    May 3 2026

I was lucky enough to sit down with adventurer, long-distance athlete and all-round inspiration Karl Hinett.

At 18 years old, Karl was deployed to Basra as an infantryman. During a riot, his tank was attacked with petrol bombs. Trapped inside, he was engulfed in flames.

He describes it as feeling like he was underwater, in fire.

Karl suffered burns to 37% of his body and was given a 20% chance of survival.

What followed was years of surgeries, chronic pain, and a complete loss of identity. He went from having his life mapped out in the military, to not knowing who he was anymore.

We talk about that moment inside the tank, the split-second decision to escape, and the point where he admits he considered not getting out at all.

We also get into the aftermath. The isolation, the drinking, the thoughts of not wanting to be here anymore - and how his nan helped pull him back.

Since then, Karl has rebuilt his life in extraordinary ways. Over 100 marathons, an Invictus Games silver medal, and a mindset that’s been forged through something most of us can’t even imagine.

This is a conversation about survival, identity, and what it really takes to rebuild when everything is taken from you.

Between the second and third series, I made the decision to go full-time on this show.

I sold my successful 10 year old PR agency after my youngest brother Jordan took his own life.

I realised that I needed to run towards passion and purpose, and my dream of sharing positivity and possibility as a career - this podcast is my effort to do just that. Subscribe wherever you watch or listen.

  • The man making classical music cool again - Jack Bazalgette
    Apr 30 2026

Today, I sit down with Jack Bazalgette, Artistic Director of Cheltenham Music Festival and founder of Through the Noise.

Cheltenham Festivals are internationally renowned, and have been bringing household names and new talent to audiences since 1945.

We talk about how music shapes us, why classical music isn’t “uncool” but perhaps badly marketed, and how Jack went from nearly being expelled at school to building a live music platform selling more than 100,000 tickets a year.

We get into the power of live events, why storytelling sits at the heart of all music, and how the attention economy is changing the way we discover culture.

Jack also explains how festivals like Cheltenham balance global stars with grassroots talent, and why bringing people together through music might matter more now than ever.

  • The Gut Doctor: “We’ve Been Getting Food Completely Wrong”
    Apr 26 2026

Professor Tim Spector is one of the most cited scientists in the world and a leading expert in gut health, nutrition, and the microbiome.

In this conversation, we break down why much of what we’ve been told about food is wrong - from calories and dieting, to why two people can eat the same meal and have completely different biological responses.

We talk about the connection between the gut and the brain, how your mood and energy might be more shaped by what you eat than we've ever been taught, and why habits like flossing could even have an enormous impact on your risk of dementia.

Tim also explains how modern food systems are designed to keep us hooked, why willpower isn’t the issue, and what simple changes can actually make a difference.

This is a conversation about how your body really works - and what you can do about it.
