This week on The Motor Crew, we ask a dangerous question… what exotic are you buying for the price of a new Prius?

We kick things off with inventory at Kasser Motor Group. Current lineup includes a 1992 600SL, 2001 SL500, GMC Sierra 2500 Denali, a 991.2 Carrera 4S Cabriolet in Voodoo Blue, and a 2022 M4 Competition in Tanzanite Blue over Kyalami. On the way in, a killer 997 Carrera S and a 993 Cabriolet in what we're calling Crable Spec. As always, we're looking to buy the right cars.

At Service House of Precision, we check in on what's going on in the shop this week.

Then we get into our Irrational Desire of the Week. A 1985 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole that checks every box for a potential bad decision. Cheap Ferrari? Questionable history? Weird spec? Some electrical stories? It's the perfect Red Flag Special. The kind of car that makes no sense… but you can't stop thinking about it.

That leads into the Motor Crew Challenge. If you had about 45k, what exotic are you buying? No Porsches allowed. The answers get interesting fast.

We also touch on the Lotus Emira moving toward a new hybrid drivetrain, and whether that shift takes away from what made the car appealing in the first place.

In What We Like This Week, we follow up on a few auctions. The Miata swapped MGB GT sold for $29,500 and still feels like a steal. A 2010 CL63 AMG with the naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 went for just $22,500, which raises some serious questions about value. We also review our Bring a Trailer bets on a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera… and all of us were high. Hammer price came in at $41,500.

We also look ahead at a one owner 2011 C63 AMG and a manual 2012 BMW 135i and debate which one makes more sense as an entry level performance car.

And then… the shocker. A 2006 Ferrari F430 that hammered for $485,000. Yes, really. We try to make sense of it.

    May 12 2026

This week on The Motor Crew, we get into what's selling, what's interesting, and where the market might be heading next.

We kick things off with inventory at Kasser Motor Group. The Saleen Mustang just sold on Bring a Trailer for 38 grand, while current inventory includes a 1992 600SL, 2001 SL500, and a GMC Sierra 2500 Denali. Coming soon, a 991.2 Carrera 4S Cabriolet in Voodoo Blue and a 2022 M4 Competition in Tanzanite Blue over Kyalami. As always, we're looking to buy the right cars.

At Service House of Precision, we check in on what's happening in the shop and what's keeping the team busy this week.

Then we get into some of the cars that caught our attention. A fully sorted 1967 MGB GT with a Miata drivetrain swap that actually fixes everything people complain about with the original. A 2010 Mercedes Benz CL63 AMG with the naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8, pillarless coupe styling, and serious presence. And a simple, clean 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera that makes a strong case for one of the most accessible ways into a proper 911.

We also found a few auctions this week on Bring a Trailer that we were intrigued by, so we all placed bets on where we think they'll end. It turned into a fun debate and might be the start of a new segment on the show.

We also talk market trends. Hybrid sales are climbing, EVs are slowing down, and the broader used car market may be starting to soften due to affordability. What does that mean for specialty and enthusiast cars, where the rules don't always follow the mainstream?

We also introduce a new idea for the show. Each week, we pick a few auctions on Bring a Trailer that we're intrigued by and place bets on where we think they'll end. It turns into a mix of market knowledge, gut instinct, and a little bit of competition between the crew. Could this be a new recurring segment?

To wrap it up, we get into the world of high end restomods. Singer, Gunther Werks, and the newly revealed "Endgame" Speedster. Are these the ultimate expression of classic cars, or are they pushing things too far?
