Today and next week I’ll be discussing the New Age movement – or, aspects of the New Age movement – with someone that I consider to be the foremost expert on that subject, both from his experience in it and his critical knowledge of it. He’s my friend, Warren Smith, and some of his books include The Light That Was Dark: From the New Age to Amazing Grace and Deceived on Purpose, as well as another very valuable book that we discussed in detail on Search the Scriptures 24/7, “Another Jesus” Calling. So, Warren, thanks for joining me today on Search the Scriptures 24/7.

My guest for today’s program – actually, this is part two – is Ray Yungen. Ray’s the author of A Time of Departing and For Many Shall Come in My Name, and these are published by Lighthouse Trails. He also writes articles for them for their blog site. So what we’re going to do in this part two is pick up where we left off. We have been talking about the issue of contemplative spirituality, which is stunning to Ray, to me – although, you know what? The Word of God says that we’re in the Apostasy, these are the last days, and that error is going to increase, even exponentially.

So, one issue – and a major issue – is moving in the evangelical church and particularly the world, whether it be through yoga, through all kinds of methods and techniques and so on, they are moving into what we’re calling “Contemplative Spirituality,” which they say, they claim, the goal is to draw closer to God – to have greater experiences with God. And we’ve been asking the question: Okay, sounds good - but is it biblical? And I think we pretty much laid that point to rest in our first session.

This is part two of our program Search the Scriptures 24/7, and I’m having the pleasure of interviewing Mark Cahill, and, as I mentioned last week, Mark’s ministry is evangelism, and he’s been explaining that is isn’t just a…well, what it’s all about, basically, it involves apologetics, it involves conversation, and it involves ministering to people. But the bottom line is sharing the Lord Jesus Christ with those who don’t know Him – or even with some who do but have been reluctant to step out and fulfill the Great Commission. As far as I remember, the Great Commission is for all of us. Now, Mark is a speaker; he’s been at our TBC conference; he’s an author – we offer many of his books: One Heartbeat Away, One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven, and we’re going to talk in a little bit about The Second Greatest Lie Ever Told. Today and next week I have the pleasure of interviewing Mark Cahill. Mark’s ministry is evangelism, and from my observation having spent time with him, he is called, in my view, he is gifted and anointed for the task. Mark’s been a speaker at our TBC conference, and honestly I don’t know anyone more effective in encouraging fellow believers in their witnessing for the Lord.

Now, some of Mark’s books are One Heartbeat Away; One Thing You Can’t Do in Heaven, which we offer here at The Berean Call; and we’re going to talk about another book a little later, a little booklet: The Second Greatest Lie Ever Told. So that’s coming up.

Today, part two of our program with Larry DeBruyn, and as we mentioned last week, Larry and I spent some time together in South Africa, which was an absolutely incredible experience, but Larry’s also going to be one of the speakers at our conference in August. And his topic, his subject – you know, we’ll cover some of that, but…I don’t know, folks, who knows anything about “quantum spirituality”? Who knows anything about a philosophy that’s playing into the hands – or, actually, they’re utilizing it – of the false signs-and-wonders gang, the Nephilim gang? I mean, we could go on and on to show you how there is a connection between this…I called it a pseudo-science, but Larry corrected me last week; there is some science involved, but, again, it’s a philosophy. It’s an idea. It’s a concept. And this concept is wooing people. It’s drawing people to…you know, as I said, the false signs-and-wonders group are using this to support their false theology, their false teaching.

Tom: Thanks, Gary. My guest for our second part of this series is Robert Congdon. He’s the founder of Congdon Ministries International, CMI, and it’s a ministry, as we mentioned last week, that has sought to assist local churches, earlier in Great Britain and particularly in the US, but now he’s expanded the work to include other countries. And, as I mentioned, a primary focus of CMI is dealing with the defense of dispensationalism, premillennialism, and we talked last week about the importance of biblical hermeneutics – how anyone who reads the Bible and wants to know what God is saying…we have two other terms, “exegesis” and “eisegesis.” Well, eisegesis is when we approach the Scriptures with what we want it to say, or imposing our own ideas on it, whereas exegesis is trying to figure out what God is saying, and that’s the heart of CMI.
