Le Havre’s city center, rebuilt after World War II under the direction of architect Auguste Perret, is defined by wide boulevards, clear urban structure, and extensive use of concrete. This bold reconstruction earned the city UNESCO World Heritage status and gives Le Havre a character unlike any other French port.
