This week I'm talking to Tricia Barker about her book 'Angels in the OR: What Dying Taught Me About Healing, Survival, and Transformation'

Tricia Barker was a depressed, agnostic college student at The University of Texas in Austin...until a profound near-death experience (NDE) during surgery revolutionizes her entire world. As she learns to walk again, Tricia lets go of painful wounds from childhood and integrates some of the aftereffects of her spiritual journey into her daily life. She returns to college with renewed vigor, intending to embark on a new path by becoming an English teacher.

But after a year of teaching in the US, Tricia travels to South Korea, where she is the victim of a sexual assault. Now, she must use the wisdom she gained on the Other Side to heal herself; and later, guide countless junior high, high school, and college students to greater peace. Through teaching and mentoring others--many of whom are struggling with traumas of their own--Tricia decides to devote her life to bringing the "light" she experienced during her NDE to individuals who are seeking solace, inspiration, and overall well-being.

Tricia Barker experienced a profound near-death experience during her senior year of college, and this experience guided her to teach overseas, in public schools, and at the college level. This week I am talking to Robin Foy. Robin was one of the team who took part in The Scole Experiment looking into physical mediumship.

The Scole Experiment is now widely regarded as the most important scientific investigation of evidence for life after death in history. Highly-qualified and objective scientists, and a whole range of other people who attended the Scole Group's sessions, came away convinced that (mostly) invisible, discarnate intelligences were making direct contact with those present.

Robin and Sandra Foy both have 39 years intensive experience of witnessing physical mediumship and physical phenomena. As well as being involved in a series of their own home circles to develop phenomena over the years with varying results, they have also had the opportunity to sit with a number of physical mediums, many of whom are (or were) well known in this field.

Through their long involvement, they have gained extensive knowledge and experience of the different ways in which physical phenomena can be produced by the spirit teams attached to various circles, mediums and groups. This is knowledge they would like to share with other dedicated groups and serious researchers. The crowning glory of their experiences to date is their involvement in the now famous 'Scole Experiment' which took place at their home in Scole over a 5-year period in the 1990's. During this period, Robin and Sandra were able to witness no less than 1,000 hours of physical phenomena in their 'Scole Experimental Group', where their two physical medium friends, Diana and Alan Bennett remained in deep trance throughout their experimental sessions.

Robin Foy was the Co-Founder of the ISM Home Circle Link in the 1980's and the Founder of the Noah's Ark Society in 1990. He remained its chairman until September 1994. In 1992, he was Co-Founder of the Scole Experimental Group and, later, of the New Spiritual Science Foundation. The group demonstrated physical phenomena to the public (and to scientific investigators who were senior members of the SPR -Society for Psychical Research) in the UK, in Ibiza, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland (Eire) as well as in California (USA)

In 1996, Robin published his first book - In Pursuit of Physical Mediumship (Janus Publishing Co Ltd)

His Latest Book - Witnessing the Impossible - was published a while ago (Torcal Publications 2008), and is the only complete record of every sitting of the Scole Experimental Group.

The Shared Crossing Project’s mission is to positively transform relationships to death and dying through education and raising awareness about shared crossings and their healing benefits. We aim to bring people together in community to support open exploration and discussion of this important topic in a safe place.

Bio

William is a licensed psychotherapist and is the Founder of the Shared Crossing Project. He has developed a series of leading-edge programs that introduce audiences to a broad assortment of experientially based curricula and practices. These programs focus on preparation for a conscious, connecting, and loving end-of-life experience, and they invite exploration of the topic of life after death.

Some of these workshops also impart a series of protocols intended to initiate shared death experiences and other beneficial shared crossing phenomena. William teaches clinical methods to guide end-of-life practitioners in assisting their clients in meaningful integration of their end-of-life experiences.

As the Director of the Shared Crossing Research Initiative (SCRI), William and his research team collect and study extraordinary end-of-life experiences (shared crossings). He is recognized by many as the world’s leading authority on the shared death experience (SDE) having developed research-based typologies that classify the full range of SDEs. He also created the Spectrum of End-of-Life Experiences, a user-friendly guide to assist the dying, caregivers and health care professionals in navigating and understanding phenomena that can manifest at end of life.

William conducts workshops and presents internationally. He recently presented at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine Annual Conference. His innovative work has been featured on CNN Online among other media outlets. William’s book entitled At Heaven’s Door: What Shared Journeys to the Afterlife Teach About Dying Well and Living Better was published worldwide by Simon & Schuster in January 2022.

William continues his practice as a licensed psychotherapist at the Family Therapy Institute in Santa Barbara, specializing in end-of-life counseling as a means toward psycho-spiritual evolution. William has served as a Zen Hospice volunteer and his work is informed by his two near-death experiences and a variety of shared death experiences.

Martha has been with more than a thousand children and adults at end-of-life - in hospitals, homes, and in-patient hospices. Long-term work in grief and bereavement laid a strong professional foundation early, and personal losses provided hard-won empathy and their own kind of wisdom.

She is a doctoral level end-of-life licensed professional counselor and counselor supervisor (LPC-S), coach, consultant, speaker, and author. I love all dogs but most especially boxers. Dr. Pepper is my drink of choice. I worked with my first dying patient, a 3 y/o, when I was 22 years old. For thirty five years now, I’ve come alongside grieving and bereaved children and families + people at end-of-life and the ones who love them.

This week I am talking to Annie Mattingley about her book ‘The After Death Chronicles: True Stories of Comfort, Guidance, and Wisdom from Beyond the Veil’.

This is a book about ordinary people--plumbers, artists and accountants, bakers and beauticians, teachers and lawyers--who have been able to receive communication from loved ones who have died. Included here are accounts from over 80 people across the country who have had contact with the dead through the diaphanous veil that separates them from the living.

The book begins with the story of Annie's deceased daughter speaking to her in the early morning hours. The communication was so transformative that she began to share her experience. Much to her surprise, she discovered that after-death communication is much more common than is normally assumed, and she began to connect with other folks across the country who had similar experiences.

This week I'm talking to Cyrus Kirkpatrick about his book 'The Afterlife and Beyond: An Examination of Life After Death by an Out-of-Body Explorer'.

If the afterlife is real, what does that mean for our lives? For society? In a second feature book by afterlife and supernatural writer Cyrus Kirkpatrick, these questions are poised as the consequences of an afterlife are explored in relation to subjects from cryogenics to artificial intelligence and the origins of life. In addition, objective evidence for the afterlife is scrutinized, with detailed out-of-body experiences and trips through other realms reported, including helpful information about how we can connect ourselves to other dimensions and reunite with loved ones.

Cyrus Kirkpatrick released Understanding Life After Death in 2015 followed by The Afterlife and Beyond in 2018. Both of these books investigated realities of the Spiritualism movement, scientific investigations into survival of consciousness. During this time, Cyrus has appeared as a speaker for the Afterlife Research Education Institute, and numerous media appearances. This also included the founding of the Afterlife Topics and Metaphysics YouTube and Facebook communities.

This week I am talking to the medium Traci Bray.

Bio

Traci Bray was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa. She was 5 years old when the first known deceased person appeared to her. Although recognition of life beyond a physical existence was real for Traci, it wasn’t until the mid-1990's that she began offering public readings at the urging of friends. Via word-of-mouth, accolades of her skills widened. Her clientele has expanded across the US, and to all continents save the poles!

Traci's professional background and enhanced communications skills lend themselves to her readings. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Family Services and a Master's in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. For over two decades prior to reading publicly she assisted individuals, families and systems toward change for improvement in the fields of domestic violence, sexual assault, corrections and public transportation. She served as a curriculum writer and trainer for two state-level law enforcement agencies in the Midwest. It is a natural that in addition to families, local, state and federal law enforcement agencies have requested and received her confidential input.

In late 2022, Traci published an oracle card deck, "The Soul Lives On - Life-Affirming Channeled Messages from Spirit", and an accompanying Journaling Workbook, both with Stacy A. Macy, JD.
