Strange Radio Speculation is a book club podcast where your hosts, Sam and Cleo, will be reading through a book/series (starting with Gideon the Ninth!) chapter by chapter, coming back each week to talk about our thoughts, our speculations, and our analysis of the book so far. But wait! There's more – each book that we read will be a completely fresh read… for one of us! The other will be reading along for a second, third, fourth, or even fifth time, acting as a guide and a sounding board for the other's speculation, wild takes, and predictions.

Each episode will be completely spoiler free outside of the chapters previously covered on the podcast, and the ones being discussed that week, so it's a perfect listening companion should you, the listener, want to read along with us as we uncover the fascinating stories that we have lined up. Or, if you've already read the series, join in from the other side and rediscover a favorite series through the eyes of a new reader! And don't worry, there will be plenty of foreshadowing and meta jokes for you to pick up on along the way ;)

    Welcome to episode 1 of Strange Radio Speculation, a weekly book club podcast diving into The Locked Tomb quadrilogy, starting with Gideon the Ninth, where hosts Sam and Cleo talk about every angle of the acclaimed series, with reactions, detailed speculations and predictions, and analyses of the text from a worldbuilding and plotting perspective.

    For Cleo, the world of The Locked Tomb is a completely fresh experience, and she will be reading alongside you, the listener, (that's right, you in particular!) with each episode's batch of chapters, giving her first time reaction and predictions as to where the tangled mysteries of this world will lead.

    For Sam, she's on her third reread of the series, and is acting as guide and fellow listener, enjoying the series vicariously through Cleo's fresh eyes while providing an experienced perspective on the story.
