    Twenty years after their first Stanley Cup championship, the Carolina Hurricanes are Stanley Cup champions once again. Carolina completed a dominant postseason with a 3-0 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 6, finishing the playoffs with an impressive 16-3 record. Brandon Bussi recorded a 22-save shutout, while Jackson Blake, Taylor Hall, and Nikolaj Ehlers provided the offense.

    Captain Jordan Staal was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP after a memorable postseason performance, adding another championship to his decorated career. Behind the bench, Rod Brind'Amour continued his Hurricanes legacy, becoming one of the few people in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup with the same franchise as both a player and a coach.

    The Stanley Cup Final is all square at 2-2 after the Carolina Hurricanes earned a crucial 5-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4 at T-Mobile Arena. Jordan Staal scored twice, including the game-winner with 13:28 left in the third period, and continued his remarkable run with goals in all four games of the series. Staal becomes the first player since Mike Bossy in 1982 to score in each of the first four games of a Stanley Cup Final and just the fourth to accomplish the feat in the NHL expansion era. The series shifts back to Lenovo Center for a pivotal Game 5 on Thursday night.

After building a commanding 4-0 lead behind Mitch Marner's record-setting hat trick—the fastest in Stanley Cup Final history, with three goals in just 6:10—Vegas watched the Carolina Hurricanes storm back with four unanswered goals in the third period to force overtime.

    The drama continued deep into double overtime before Shea Theodore's shot caromed off the end boards and into the net off Carolina goaltender Brandon Bussi at 5:38 of the second extra frame, giving the Golden Knights a thrilling 5-4 victory in Game 3 at T-Mobile Arena.

  • Jarvis Scores OT Winner, Canes Even Up the Cup Final

    In a Stanley Cup Final already packed with drama, the Carolina Hurricanes bounced back in a big way in Game 2, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in overtime to even the series at one game apiece. Seth Jarvis delivered the winner on a power play just 3:56 into OT, capping a thrilling comeback after Carolina erased a two-goal deficit with three third-period goals. Vegas answered late with Mark Stone's game-tying goal, but the Hurricanes found the final response this time around. Logan Stankoven, Mark Jankowski and Jordan Staal scored in the third, Shayne Gostisbehere added two assists, and Frederik Andersen stopped 23 shots. With momentum shifting and emotions running high, the series now heads to Las Vegas for Game 3 at T-Mobile Arena.
