Shortland Street may be best known for murderers, cliffhangers and scandalous affairs, but it is a medical drama at its heart. This episode would look at what goes in to staging a medical drama - from learning medical jargon to getting the surgical procedures right - as well as touching on character's own medical storylines and what goes in to getting sensitive stories like that right.
