「気（Ki）」という字は、日本語のさまざまな表現やイディオムで使われています。

「気」とは何か？ 実は、はっきりと一言で説明するのはとても難しい言葉です。 僕自身も完璧に理解できているわけではありませんが、 日常会話の中でたくさんの「気」を自然に使っています。 このエピソードでは、「気」が使われた表現をいくつか紹介しながら、 その感覚を一緒に考えてみたいと思います。気とは何か？ということが気になったら、まずは、あまり細かいことを気にせず、気軽に聞いてみてください。きっと、日本語の勉強へのやる気が、もっと湧いてくるはずです。そして元気に、勉強を続けていきましょう。Enjoy!

What exactly is “Ki”?
In fact, it’s a very difficult word to explain clearly in just one sentence. Even I don’t fully understand it perfectly, yet I naturally use many expressions with “Ki” in everyday conversation.

In this episode, I’ll introduce several common expressions that use “Ki,” and I’d like to explore that feeling together with you.

The word “道 (Michi / Do)” represents more than just a road or path.
In Japanese culture, it expresses the process of striving toward mastery.

We often focus only on results. But by becoming aware of the path we are walking right now, our learning — and our lives — can become much richer.

Learning Japanese could also be a “道.”
So instead of chasing only fluency, try to appreciate each step along the way.

「道（みち・どう）」という言葉は、人生や物事を成し遂げるまでのプロセスを表すメタファーとして、日本文化の中で大切にされてきました。

私たちはつい、結果だけを追い求めてしまいがちです。でも、「道」――つまり今まさに歩んでいるプロセスそのものを意識することで、日々の学びや生活は、より豊かになるのではないでしょうか。日本語の勉強も、ひとつの「道」になり得ると思います。結果だけではなく、その道のりも味わいながら、一歩ずつ進んでいきましょう。
