A short highlight from a March 28th 2026 event that raised $420k for the Health Care Foundation. Gale Force Wins is proud to have donated our time talent and treasure to this event to assist in raising such a significant amount.

Here is what this incredible initiative means for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador:

Accelerating Access to Care: While government support is crucial, community philanthropy accelerates our ability to get cutting-edge technology into the hands of physicians much faster. Seeing these funds directly impact local care creates an enormous sense of provincial pride. Giving to the Foundation means touching the lives of families, friends, and neighbours across the province, reminding us all that "we care".

As we look back on this event we want to say a massive thank you to all the donors, volunteers, and healthcare leaders working together to finance the future of patient care!

Long-term Production: Major projects like Valentine are entering production with potential lifespans of 25 to 30 years, signaling a stable, multi-generational industry.

Spotlight: Peter Dimmell – A Visionary in the Field 🌟

Few have played a more pivotal role in recognizing the province's potential than Peter Dimmell. With over 50 years of experience, Peter was one of the first to look at the Appleton Fault zone and see its future.
Pioneering Exploration: Working with Noranda in the early 70s and 80s, Peter proposed early till surveys that led to the initial discovery of gold in Central Newfoundland.
The "Real Start": He was a key driver in the 1998 staking of the ground that eventually became the Queensway Project (New Found Gold), a discovery that transformed the regional industry.
Ongoing Leadership: Today, Peter continues to push the boundaries as a director of companies like Pirate Gold, Northern Shield Resources and Visionary Copper and Gold, exploring new systems like epithermal gold and porphyry copper that were unrecognized in NL just 20 years ago.

He breaks down his diverse career, from the unpredictable but rewarding days in Operational Patrol Services to his current role in the Criminal Investigation Division's Major Crime Unit investigating serious offenses.

Shane doesn't hold back on the realities of the job. He discusses the increasing complexity of modern investigations driven by technology, the rise in violence against members and the community, and the national challenges surrounding police recruitment and retention.

Despite the stressors of the job, his message to anyone considering a career in law enforcement is simple: "Go for it". With great supervisors and managers, Shane believes the future is bright for the RNC.

Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Association Showcases Members in 'Beyond the Badge' Series.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Association (RNCA) is proud to launch Beyond the Badge, a new interview series highlighting the dedicated work of its members.
In the coming weeks and months, the RNCA will release a series of interviews produced by Gale Force Wins. This initiative offers an inside look at the daily responsibilities of RNCA officers, while also providing insight into the role and advocacy efforts of the Association.
As policing continues to evolve in the face of new and complex challenges, Beyond the Badge offers the public a rare and candid perspective on the realities of policing. Through these stories, the RNCA aims to foster a greater understanding of the work its members carry out every day.
The interview series will be available beginning April 7", 2026, on the RNCA's Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) platforms, as well as across Gale Force Wins social media channels.
