• The Wolf Man (1941) Monster Movie Season
    May 3 2026

It's a full moon this week as the boys continue their Monster Movie Season with a 1940s classic in The Wolf Man.

Featuring a star-studded line up of Lon Chaney Jr, Bela Lugosi and Claude Rains, The Wolf Man delivers some full moon frights, some 1940s gender stereotypes and some scenes that lead the boys on some x-rated tangents.

But how does the film stack up nearly eighty years later? Is this just bark or does it still have a bite

The boys take a trip back in time as we discuss an early monster movie and one of the first on-screen iterations of the legendary Mummy. But how does it stack up almost 100 years later? Can the boys stop viewing it through a modern lens? Is it a product of its time or a timeless classic?

Find out as we officially kickstart our Monster Movie Season.

  • Lee Cronin's The Mummy (2026) Spoiler Free Review
    Apr 17 2026

Straight from the cinema, the boys bring you their spoiler free review of Lee Cronin's The Mummy. After the success of Evil Dead Rise, Lee Cronin turns his hand to modernising a classic universal monster movie.

Telling the story of a missing girl being discovered eight years later in a sarcophagus, Lee Cronin's The Mummy features a blend of slow burn investigation, possession tropes and a healthy dose of Evil Dead gore.

But how does the film stack up? Does it suffer from tonal whiplash or is this one ride that's worth the run time? Does it feel like a fresh take on an old classic, or is this one dry husk of a movie?

  • Thrash (2026) - Spoiler Free Review
    Apr 10 2026

This week, the boys are going to need a bigger boat as they discuss Netflix’s new shark movie Thrash.

Originally supposed to be released in cinemas in 2024, the film languished between many different studios and names before finally finding a home at Netflix. Taking a leaf out of Crawl’s book, Thrash sees a hurricane leave a coastal town flooded and the last few remaining residents stuck in a desperate fight for survival. But just as things seem like they can’t get any worse, bull sharks swarm the town. Featuring some decent blood and guts, a few handfuls of comedy and some questionable CGI, Thrash looks to cement itself as the great white of the current crop of creature features being released this year.

But how does Thrash stack up? Is it worth the watch or is this one toothless film?

  • Slither (2006) Body Snatcher Season
    Apr 5 2026

We've popped back to our Body Snatcher Season with a quirky little small town horror in Slither.

Before he helmed the D.C universe, James Gunn made his directorial debut with 2006s Slither. Featuring Nathan Fillion, Elizabeth Banks and Michael Rooker, Slither sees James Gunns brand of off-kilter humour blended with some gross out body horror and weird alien body snatching. This was a film that we both remember being advertised in the cinema but its a first time viewing for both of us.

But how does Slither hold up nearly twenties years later?

  • The Faculty (1998) Body Snatcher Season
    Mar 29 2026

This week's Body Snatcher Season takes us to the 90s and to a film we both watched far too young.

The Faculty sees Kevin Williamson bring his trademark characterisation to the sci-fi horror genre with Robert Rodriguez taking the helm in a move that serves as a modernised Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Featuring a star studded cast including a young heartthrob Josh Hartnett, Robert Patrick and a pre Lord of the Rings Elijah Wood, there's a late 90s soundtrack, some iffy CGI and an interesting rendition of The Things blood sample scene.

But after all these years, how does The Faculty stand up
