I got this because I'm a fan of Lights Out and Butcher & Blackbird and it does have the same vibes, I don't feel it was quite as good but that's just down to personal tastes, probably a weird thing to say but it kind of gave me Superman and Lois Lane vibes too - only Superman is a vigilante and Lois is intelligent enough to figure the alter ego, leading me in to my thoughts on the characters, I really liked Xander, intelligent, awkward, socially uncomfortable, nerdy, masks with stats and adorable, but I also liked Oakley when I can find that the FMC is often written a little weakly Oakley isn't, she's determined, strong yet vulnerable but not in a needy, whiny way, the story was good, I loved the relationship between Xander and Oakley but also the extended found family, it was funny in places and Calloway being one of my favourite characters and making me laugh the most, I can't wait for the next book as it's his story but I hope there will be books about all the Hemlock Society members, I listened to this on audio and a great choice of narrators, performed really well and in duet so massive thumbs up for that choice.
