About this listen

Freshly sprung from witch jail, Winnie Foster just has to fulfill the conditions of her parole and she's home free.

Too bad that parole takes place in Paris. (Texas!) Where she'll work at a school for the magically inclined. And be forced to endure the ex who's one of the very reasons she landed in the pokey to begin with.

Bratty tots, sexy ex, timed showers, creepy dolls, magic restrictions and a GPS with an attitude, all wrapped in a Texas town hotter than the surface of the sun? Oh yeah. No way this could go wrong.

I found this book after looking for funny paranormal romance recommendations. This was an enjoyable read. The plot is decent (although the friction between the protagonist and her ex is a little silly and the misunderstanding becomes very obvious very quickly). The protagonist has a light, fun tone. The one fly in the ointment is the kid - while the kid is likable - the narrator's highly pitched imitation of a child's voice can be quite grating. All the kiddy mispronunciations of words are decidedly less cute when spoken by an adult imitating a child. If you can get past that, it's a fun read.

Fun Paranormal Romance - if you like kids
