Summary

He tried to take my life. Instead I took his.

It happened so long ago, I've forgotten the details. But he was desperate, hungry enough to kill. As I was dying, my hand touched his. That's when my first switch took place.

I looked through the eyes of my killer just in time to see my own body die.

Now switching is easy. I can jump from body to body, have any life, be anyone. All it takes is a touch.

The story is very similar in its general ideas and scope as her first book, which was excellent. However here the lack of truly new ideas and plot left me a little disappointed.

Narrator Peter Kenny was brilliant as ever. Outranks every other narrator I've heard on Audible by miles.

Not as good as her last

What did you like best about this story?

Excellent characters their personality remains despite their current body.

What about Peter Kenny’s performance did you like?

Such a good job for an unusual style of book, he kept the personality of the main character despite the changes in accent and gender.

Brilliantly entertaining

After listening to Claire North's The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, I was really looking forward to this. Just like the previous book, the premise is simple but clever and is dealt with in a way that makes you forget that you're actually reading fantasy/sci-fi/supernatural (take your pick on the description). It feels like real life, not a made up world.

Also, as usual, Peter Kenny's narration is excellent. (Claire North is one of the authors I have found while following My Kenny around from book to book). Characterisation is excellent, with drama and emotion always expressed very well.

The writing is very good too, articulate, engaging and, for the most part, avoiding clichés.

However, I didn't think this was quite as good as The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. To be clear, I did really enjoy the book, but I finished it feeling like there could have been just a little bit more to it.

Don't let that put you off though - well worth a listen.

Clever, well written, well read.

A different type of sci-fi. An unexpected little gem well worth a listen. The narration cannot be faulted.

Dropped a mark since there does appear to be parts that don't really add to the sum and feel a bit like unnecessary padding.

A very unusual story excellently narrated

Enjoyed the story a lot. What an amazing imagination. In some places it dragged a little bit it is worth listening to just because it is such an unusual idea... It would make an amazing film. The guy reading the story is simply superb. Very versatile with his voices and accents..

Superb Narration
