Enigmatic clouds darken the skies, accelerating climate collapse and threatening humanity’s existence.

As these sinister phenomena poison the rain, drive people to madness, and swallow the unlucky into oblivion, Doctor Michelle Anderson is on a relentless mission to unravel their secrets. The answers may be linked to her father’s descent into “cloud madness.” In her boundless obsession, she will stop at nothing to prevent this extinction-level disaster.

When a humble Ghanaian farmer and a religious leader disillusioned by faith are drawn to Michelle in search of answers and healing, none of them are prepared for the hard truths they must confront at the end of their journey.

The author covers three continents in telling this tale of a dystopian possible near-future where climate change may have lead to clouds which make people disappear or become raving vegetables if caught in the rain. US goverment agencies with scientists and military become embroiled with two religious sects which have arisen due to the cloud threat. A Ghanain farmer whose wife is taken up into a cloud is the catalyst for the action moving to converge upon the mystical spot in that African country where religious fath, belief and the mirror of scientific faith and belief are put to the test. We learn who is behind the dark clouds and their purpose. I found all the characters engaging (at least the ones written to be sympathetic) and was immersed in the tale.

The narrator did an excellent job of rendering and distinguishing all the voices, especially the African ones.
