Who would wish to kill this respectable husband and family man in such a brutal fashion? Was it simply a tragic case of mistaken identity, or did someone have reason to end Alistair's life? And what was the significance of the envelope handed to him before he was fatally wounded?
Over the years, lines of enquiry have been investigated and dismissed, gossip has spread, theories offered and rumours debated at length. And yet, so long after Alistair's death, no arrest has ever been made and precious few motives have been made public.
In this gripping true crime investigation, Peter Bleksley, top ex-undercover cop and The Chief on Channel 4's Hunted, strives to uncover the truth and hunt down Alistair's killer. He travels to Scotland, speaks to experts, and draws on his decades of investigative experience in order to provide new insight into Scotland's most mysterious murder case.

Was there really an envelope? Where is the evidence? This is just what his wife said, is my biggest worry. I'm not saying there wasn't, I'm just questioning it.
Has the wife's life, really being examined in details, as she is believed without doubt. If you go into anyone's life, we all have secrets. I don't really believe, she's guilty, but I'd make sure that it's foolproof.
The book is very decent overall, but Bleks gets on my nerves. He's banker, butcher, baker and candle stick maker and the best at them. Is there anything he hasn't done.
He goes off on a tangent too many times. This book is 6 hrs max, but it's padded out with Jill Dando, Mcgann, Rachel Mikel, Bellfield, I think at one point and a ton of others. I get the Jill Dando has some parallels, but the others don't. I often thought, how does this really tie in with the main case and they don't.
Anyway decent book, with a ton of flaws.
Main story is interesting
