Milton Frederick was arguably the best player of Crowned Lieges of Destiny in the entire world. As the strategy coordinator for one of the top guilds, he was beginning to actually make a living from it. That was, until he was abducted by aliens.

Instead of your stereotypical grey aliens with big black eyes who like to perform anal probes upon unsuspecting victims for unknown reasons, the Collective had a more altruistic purpose. Sure, kidnapping 100 humans from Earth, ripping them away from their lives and families, and erasing their memories doesn’t sound great - but the way they saw it, the benefits would far outweigh these side-effects. Seriously, who wouldn’t want their consciousness trapped in a Station Core, subjected to the whims of a collection of alien races, and then ordered to defend against other hostile aliens for all eternity? They’d be immortal - so...bonus!

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), the Station Core now known as Milton never arrived at his destination. Severely damaged and confused about what happened to him, he woke up to find himself trapped inside a massive chicken egg on a strange, primitive world filled with curious - and deadly - creatures.

Now, in order to survive the harsh environment, Milton has to rely on a snarky, foul-mouthed AI guide to show him what it means to be a Station Core. With her help, he might just live long enough to figure out a way to get off the planet - if only he wasn’t so afraid of squirrels....

Contains litRPG/gamelit elements such as level progression and experience, optional tables, no harems, and a heavy dungeon-core emphasis.

Based on feedback, there has been an update to include the absent footnotes to the narration. Many of the longer stat table footnotes are contained in separate chapters for ease of listening.

I like the plot of the series and love the character developments i even like the stats but i just can't get over the cursing. like there are Full sentences of cursing. this is a good book but for some people some like me that amount of cursing is a no-no. esp for an audiobook. but i would still read it and recommend it because it is a great book with a great story. however, sorry although it was a great performance and the plot is good, i would probably stick to Reading this than Listening to it. will probably enjoy it that way. so if you are not averse to cursing like a pirate/trucker and you like Dungeon Litrpgs that involves stats(i love those) you would love this book series. Just try it!

good dungeon book but...

The set up to the main story was a bit slow. Ones Milton’s story started the story picked up and I found it enjoyable and was surprised by the twist at the end. I look forward to fearing more in the series

Not a good story for little ears due to the swearing.

Fun young adult gamelit

I received review copies for this series and this review covers all of the books. The first thing to say is that there are a lot of statistics in this book. I am not sure that this suits the audio format well, but the author does ensure that the statistics are in separate chapters to allow them to be skipped easily. It did not bother me, but it does mean that a significant proportion of each book is the description of stat pages and I would have preferred more time on the events and characters themselves.

The story itself is interesting, I had actually avoided this series as I wasn't sure how a squirrel could link to a defensive station control unit. However, this was quickly revealed in the story in a manner that provided a very solid reason for the existence of such a core and the "dungeon" mechanics. The story itself is satisfying with interesting supporting characters and use of mechanics. Overall a very interesting story, with my only complaint being the story appears to stop for now with only the first arch completed. I look forward to another series after this one to see what has happened whilst the core has been trapped on the world.

Good but lots of statistics

I’ve been reading litRPG for a while now, but never of this type and I’m so glad I did. Exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Looking forward to book 2!

Not my normal listen ... really glad I did!
