The Risk of Falling is a stand alone story, though the last couple minutes of the epilogue set up for what I assume is the next book. I liked how the action and suspense were incorporated into a story with an independent heroine. The book was very heavy on the steamy scenes.

I can say enough great things about the narration. Sarah Puckett has an amazing ability to convey a character’s emotion when they get into a into a tight spot. Gideon Frost was a great match for Micah’s point of view. I’m sure that I enjoyed the story more because I listened to it.

I received a copy of the audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

Sienna is determined to carry on dancing and get out of there and make a better life for her and her sister Ellie . However Micah her boss has other ideas he wants her and nothing will stop him getting what he wants. I’m loving Nikki’s books and this is one of my favourites so far .

I think I found my new favorite book by Nikki Ash.

That ending. Like WTF! I need more!
Sienna and Micha are 🔥🔥🔥!
I loved Ellie. She had me wanting to pull my hair out at times though.
This book has the right amount of 'angst', steam and suspense. I loved that part. The danger. It kept me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath to know what would happen next.
Overall, highly recommend and unsure if I'll have a different top 1 read/listen for 2023.

Do what you have to, that is what Sienna has been faced with. Taking care of her fourteen year old sister Ellie is her priority, and if she has to work, she will do something she loves. Dancing is her life, and though her kind of dance didn't include stripping, she makes a living while going to school and supporting her sister. Micah comes into the club, and his infatuation with her is immediate. She has a life plan though, and romance is not included in that. But when she finds herself in trouble, and Micah is there to help, she sees a side of humanity that she hasn't seen before. But is it enough to give her heart over to him? I loved this book! From start to finish, Nikki Ash had me captivated with the storyline, the crazy, absentee mother, the overbearing obsession Micah has and let us not forget his amazing brother! Sienna is closed off, and rightly so, and I love how Micah pulls her out of her shell. Ellie is a breath of fresh air, bringing in a maturity in her teenage angst. Micah comes off as tough, but is mush on the inside! This is a fabulous listen, the time flew by and I couldn't believe it was over. The sign of a great listen!

Bringing it all to life are the storytellers! Sarah Puckett and Gideon Frost bring magic to the ears with an amazing performance. Puckett is perfectly cast as Sienna. She knows that kind of character, bringing out all the emotions with just an inflection in her voice. Frost is Micah, tough at times, but has a warm tone that melts the heart. I enjoyed this pairing and the story!

The Risk of Falling by Nikki Ash is a marriage of convenience romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Gideon Frost and Sarah Puckett.

I absolutely love Nikki's books. I can't help but binge them in one sitting. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Micah and Sienna. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series A Risk Worth Taking to be released on January 25, 2024, so I can get Ellie's story.

Gideon and Sarah did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like marriage of convenience romances, romantic suspense, new adult romances, or contemporary romances.
