A golden summer, and six talented teenagers are looking forward to the brightest of futures—until a daredevil game goes horribly wrong, leaving three strangers dead.

18-year-old Megan takes the blame for the crime, leaving her friends to get on with their lives. In return, they each agree to a 'favour', payable on her release from prison.

Twenty years later Megan is free.

It is payback time.

And her friends start disappearing, one by one . . .

Richard & Judy bestseller Sharon Bolton is back, with her twistiest thriller yet.

I have rarely been so gripped by a story as by this one. The storyline immediately appealed to my sense of justice and the twists and turns just kept on coming. I normally predict the outcome in books such as this but this one kept me guessing, most enjoyably. Brilliantly-written and well-narrated I highly recommend this.

Fantastic, gripping story!

Brilliantly written and narrated. The memory of being a teen brought back to life, with the suspense of a thriller. I couldn't stop listening.

Gripping.

I really enjoyed the originality of this story. Although some parts were not quite believable they didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the devastating story. The consequences of foolish actions when people are in their late teens, on the brink of launching into their adult lives, is a recurring theme in real life, especially the drinking and driving that haunts these young peoples’ lives. The author takes a stab at the class system ingrained in British life, the deviousness of the legal system & the hypocrisy of people who shelter behind the supposed high morals of religious calling. The narrator of the story is excellent, somehow conveying a truly menacing atmosphere when required. I’ll certainly look out for other books by this author.

A great menacing page turner
