'A humbling, inspiring account of some of the real founders of modern day Special Forces soldiering' Bear Grylls

SAS Nazi Hunters is the incredible, hitherto untold story of the most secret chapter in the SAS's history. Officially, the world's most elite special forces unit was dissolved at the end of the Second World War, and not reactivated until the 1950s. Among their last actions was a disastrous commando raid into occupied France in 1944, which ended in the capture, torture and execution of 31 soldiers.

It can now be revealed that the SAS never was dissolved: it lived on, commanded personally by Churchill and hidden even from the British government. They were tasked with hunting through the ruins of the Reich for the SS commanders responsible for the murder of their comrades, including many who had escaped the failed justice of the Nuremberg trials. Along the way, they discovered before anyone else the full horror of Hitler's regime, and the growing threat from Stalin's Russia.

Still studied by the SAS today and a central part of their founding myth, the story of the Nazi hunters is now told by bestselling author Damien Lewis.

Excellent and very explicit review of event's that should not be forget about - the actions of such brave young men and women, and there Commander's determination to seek justice for their murder's by an appalling Nazi regime of men gives a very vivid account in detail.

My review of an excellent listening audio book

A well constructed book from so much source material. The courage and bravery of ours and our allies went above and beyond. It is records like this that help keep theirs and all the innocent civilian victims, alive.

Lest we forget.

Excellent Read...

This book comes in two halves, in the first half you follow the SAS in an operation behind the lines in the Voges in France, the second half covers their attempts to capture the men who shot their comrades, even though they were prisoners of war. Recommended!

Special Forces in Action

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The first half focuses on the role the SAS, SOE and Resistance fighters played in the Vosges region during the second war. Some of the activities described are quite incredible but of course it is the SAS. The second half describes what was done to locate the missing personnel and bring the guilty to justice. I thought the second half might be a bit dull but far from it. There are some revelations toward the end which I found very intriguing. A great listen, thank you.

A fascinating insight into the SAS activities
