About this listen

Best friends with secret crushes - on each other!

Connor and Maya have volunteered at the neighborhood library together since middle school, but when a grant makes a paid summer position available, their relationship crumbles as they compete to prove which of them is more worthy of the job.

The third YA novel from award-winning, best-selling author Cecily Wolfe looks at friendship under pressure, with humor, drama, and misunderstandings that ultimately don't stand a chance against true love.

When I was first given the opportunity to listen to "The Library War," I have to say I had envisioned a different type of War then what it actually turned out to be. I expected the two main characters pulling stunts on each other, playing practical jokes, throwing books and things of that nature. But, to my disappointment Cecily Wolfe; the author, gave me something different.

This was my 1st book by this author so I go into it with GREAT EXPECTATIONS. When I'm asked to leave a honest review, I pride myself to do just that. Unfortunately, I have to honestly say that I was let down with "The Library War."

The narrator was another 1st for me. Krystal Chiarolla voice tone stayed the same through the whole audiobook. I don't know if she does multi-voices, but it made it hard to distinguish which character was talking a lot of the time.

The next question is; "Do I recommend it to others?" My answer is, I'm one voice. The choice is up to you...

I received an ARC copy of this audiobook and this is my freely given review.

This was such an adorable story about two best friends competing over the same job at their local library... or was that lib-berry? The constant mispronunciation of such a key word was very distracting... and then hilarious. (take one shot every time you hear libberry!!!)
Volunteer Lib-berrians!

Maya and Connor are in that awkward phase of friendship running up to the summer before college, and with Prom coming... Connor and Maya find there might be more to love than just the romance section.

What is a Lib-berry???

I call this the tug of war. The characters go back and fourth with their desire for each other and it doesn't help that they want the same job. It annoyed me at times but it gave the book tension, and suspension.
Would recommend it to those who love YA romance.
