A lovely story about grief and complicated relationships that, despite its very sad premise, leaves you smiling and hopeful. it was all beautifully told by Aliona Baranova, who was the perfect choice of narrator.

Having not gotten on with the first couple of audiobooks I've tried, I gave this one a tentative go based on the strength of its narrator and that faith was immensely rewarded! Aliona does a stunning job with a complex character and a heavy emotional weight, bringing heart and authenticy that binds the experience together and is immediately compelling. She navigates accents and voices with ease, and I can't imagine anyone better to tell this beautiful story. Easiest recommendation ever, thank you Aliona!
