Critic reviews
"Dan Simmons was a star from the outset. It was the Hyperion books that made him a superstar. The man, quite simply, is what we in the trade call a writer's writer." (Mike Resnick, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning author)
"State of the art science fiction...A landmark novel." (Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine)

If you read Hyperion and didn't enjoy I wouldn't recommend you read this.
If, like me, the ending left you desperate for more then this book really does deliver. The structure is different and the book has a different tone and feel, but it still manages to retain a sense of action, drama and sheer scale that made Hyperion so readable.
Different from Hyperion

Great sequel to Hyperion

I read through other reviews and it seems quite a few people who listened were disappointed there was only a single narrator for The Fall of Hyperion compared to the full cast reading it's prequel but I was delighted. I love Victor Bevine's voice and there are multiple parts that I've bookmarked because I thought he did a beautiful job, some of which have left me in tears.
The fact I've listened to Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion back to back, over forty hours of audio, and wasn't bored once says it all.
I hope anyone about to start this book enjoys it as much as I have. Now, I'm moving onto Endymion.
