About this listen

How to Design Lighting That Moves People, Defines Space, and Elevates Your Architecture
You’ve been there…

  • You’re scrambling to find CPD that’s more than just product pitches.
  • You sit through another lighting seminar and leave with more confusion than clarity.
  • You try to explain lighting intent to clients—but they just see it as “bright” or “dim”.

It’s not your fault. In today’s fast-paced world, architects are expected to be experts in everything. But lighting? It’s one of the most misunderstood, under-taught, and under-appreciated tools in your design toolbox. And it’s not just you—most architects feel they’re winging it when it comes to lighting.

Meanwhile, your designs are getting value-engineered by people who don’t understand how light shapes experience. You spend months crafting beautiful forms, only to watch them fall flat in poor lighting. And the worst part? You know it could’ve been different.

This book is your guide to making sure it is.

  • Discover how lighting isn’t just technical—it’s emotional. Learn to design with light like a sculptor uses clay.
  • Cut through the jargon. Finally understand CRI, beam angles, and colour temperatures—without a PhD.
  • Master the art of purposeful illumination so every fitting earns its place and enhances your architecture.

If you’ve ever felt that your projects deserve more than flat, lifeless lighting—this is your moment. Start listening now. Everything changes from here.

Honestly going into this I didn’t know much about lighting other than the fact it’s used to light a room up. So going into this wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was surprisingly easy to follow. It explains things in a simple, clear way without feeling overwhelming and easy to understand for someone with little knowledge, and I actually came away understanding more than I expected. A really interesting and accessible listen for anyone but also for beginners like myself.
