What a great piece of advice for people of all ages! The focus is on slowly decluttering over a longer period of time and sharing possessions with your loved ones and more importantly, sharing the stories of the possessions with them while you are still alive. I especially like the idea of the "one touch rule". This concept seems like it will make keeping my home clutter free a little bit easier!

What makes this book stand out is its calm and compassionate tone. Instead of pushing harsh minimalism, Nystrom approaches decluttering with warmth, wisdom, and practicality. She reminds readers that letting go of possessions does not mean letting go of memories. The advice feels realistic and emotionally intelligent, making the process less overwhelming and more meaningful.
The book also touches on aging, relationships, family responsibilities, and the value of living intentionally. Readers who enjoy cozy lifestyle books, Scandinavian philosophy, or personal growth themes will likely connect deeply with its message.

I had never heard of Swedish Death Cleaning. But I love the idea of this book. I like it because it’s an important topic and good way to prepare. I like how the book says that we are celebrating life. I love the idea of the memory lane box and donation box. I currently do some of these however, I know I’m guilty of keeping a lot of stuff. This will give me some good ideas that I will use in my home and ideas that I want to have my mom use as well. Thank you for sharing this topic.
