Summary

‘Sometimes all you want is the novel equivalent of Gilmore Girls - just add a spiced latte’ Stylist

IT'S TIME TO REDISCOVER HER MAGIC . . .

Belladonna Blackthorn hasn’t lost her magical spark, but she hasn’t seen it in a while either. Balancing work at her beloved London bookshop, Lunar Books, with handling her toxic boss and concealing her witchcraft from those around her – Belle is burnt out. Perfecting the potential of her magic is the last thing on her mind.

But, when her thirtieth birthday brings a summons from her coven and a trial that tests her worthiness as a witch, Belle risks losing her magic for ever. With the month of October to fix things and signs that dark forces may be working against her, Belle will need all the help she can get – from the women in her life, from an unlikely mentor figure and even from an (infuriating) coven watchman who’s sworn to protect her . . .

Can Belle reignite her spark before it’s too late?

With found family, a dash of romance and an uplifting message about self-love, Rewitched is a cosy fantasy that will leave you spellbound . . .

Fell in love with the characters. The sort of book that you sit in your car when you get to work just to listen for a little longer before going in.

Sweet, charming and with unexpected twists.

I really enjoyed Lucy’s story and Evie’s narration. It took me a little while to connect with the story and sometimes, especially in the beginning, felt like the focus on flowery language got between me and the plot.

Once the story really began however I was fully invested, and this felt like a lovely comforting balm to counter act the harsh realities of your 30s!

I loved the characters, the setting (although sometimes was surprised with how much leeway was given to outright copying of other famous magical words - protego charm, anyone?) and would very much recommend this book to others.

One last comment - I’m really disappointed with some of the negative comments about a northern narrator. I found Evie’s reading brilliant - so vibrant that it kept me listening in the first hour or so before the story took off. If you can’t handle a northern character, maybe do some self introspection rather than write it as a criticism in a book review.

Cosy 30s core magic

I really appreciated how easy it was to get into this story. As somebody who struggles saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn, I found that this audiobook really helped change my mindset to crave all things witchy and autumnal. Beautifully written. There's nothing I didn't like about this book. I'm slightly saddened that Lucy isn't working on a sequel, nonetheless I am excited for her second book. Also, thank you for the interview at the end, such a nice little gift.

Perfect cosy vibes

Wonderful cosy warm atmosphere throughout the story, the best thing I’ve read or listened to in ages! Really inspiring, I absolutely loved that the main character was a woman in her thirties only just properly discovering herself and her own true potential, finding her own self belief. So refreshing to have a grown up magic book that feels so warm and enjoyable! Definitely one of my favourites.

Magical storytelling at its finest!
