Summary

The final Tommy & Tuppence novel.

Tommy and Tuppence Beresford have just become the proud owners of an old house in an English village. Along with the property, they have inherited some worthless bric-a-brac, including a collection of antique books. While rustling through a copy of The Black Arrow, Tuppence comes upon a series of apparently random underlinings.

However, when she writes down the letters, they spell out a very disturbing message:
M a r y – J o r d a n – d i d – n o t – d i e – n a t u r a l l y…

Love Tommy and Tuppence and the world they inhabit. I am in my 70s but can still relate to “their 70s”! Recommend thoroughly.

So pleasant to listen to - Hugh Fraser!

Daft but absolutely safe escapism. I’m not sure I actually understood what was going on by the end, but perhaps that's because I may have fallen asleep a couple of times.

The conversations between ‘Tuppence’ and ‘Tommy’ are often so stilted that even the brilliant Hugh Fraser seems to struggle a bit. But it’s all very lighthearted, there’s another excellent Christie dog beautifully observed and some surprising, currently relevant, anti-Fascist politics.

Fun dog, and totally safe escapism

I have this book on tape although it is abridged, just love it. When I listened to the full book I realised just how much had been left out. Admittedly a lot of it was irrelevant but I really enjoy listening to it all I have already listened to it 4 times and know I will listen at least once a month. I would recommend this book if you enjoy Tommy and Tuppence stories, sadly there were only a few of them written.

Excellent read

Slightly rambling & nowhere near as sharp as her earlier works but all the characters are endearing & it brought a warm glow to my heart. However, if you’ve never read a Tommy & Tuppence before I’d recommend the short story collection, Partners in Crime over this when they were bright young things. Unusually the duo age in real time unlike Marple & Poirot.
