Henri Vasel has perfected the art of people-pleasing.

He's a good student, a fair hockey player, and has a group of friends he'd do anything for. He's happy. Or, rather, as happy as he can be when he has a class with the one person he can't seem to please at South Carolina University.

Atlas Kaiser hates a lot of things, but right now he hates Henri Vasel the most. He doesn't want to have to stare at his perfect face or listen to his adorable German accent. He wants to be left alone. Unfortunately, they're partnered together for the semester so he'll have to grit his teeth and try to make it work.

Animosity morphs into a tentative friendship, which eventually leads to more. But while Atlas doesn't trust their budding relationship, Henri wants more.

1. This author has become my new fave! Normally books expose a lot about characters to make you want the next book but the subtle way the writer tells us about characters that makes us want to buy the next book is everything.
2. Henri deserves the world and this is the first time in all my MM audiobook history that I hated the love interest. Even with his back story I’ll never forgive Atlas! I legit was crying and screaming out loud throughout this whole book! Our baby Vas deserves the world! Love
3. Love how this is romance that’s not all about sex and especially this book where there was little sex scenes! I loved !
4. Teaching about consent, and different ways of having intimacy in a relationship without it just being sex is amazing!

5. 😭 I need Marcos and Vance story ASAP! And cannot wait for coaches story too!

I enjoyed this love story. Bought it because I loved the previous two books, but found it a struggle to listen to the dreadfully bad foreign accents. Clearly, neither narrator has ever heard a German person speak English, I think the book blurb should’ve been clear about this being a YA story.

I really liked the characters and their development - quite outside of the usual clichés or tropes …
However, please, avoid the accents … same with the one with Nigel’s “French” accent, Henri’s “German” is a bit difficult to listen to .. no shade on the actor’s performance, but it sounds too over the top..
