Summary

When Ranford School is forced to close in the wake of a national lockdown, Sebastian "Spike" Kingswell faces a truth no child should ever confront: he has nowhere to go. With a father in prison, a mother who abandoned him, and grandparents unable—or unwilling—to take him in, Spike finds himself on the brink of homelessness in London.

A night spent under the stars in Lincoln's Inn Fields to a desperate letter slipped through a stranger's door, Spike's search for belonging leads him to an unexpected connection with a reclusive grandfather he has never met. But family ties are rarely simple, and Spike must navigate secrecy, rejection, and fragile new relationships while clinging to the hope of finding a place to call home.

Moving, heartfelt, and deeply human, Nowhere to Go is a powerful coming-of-age story about resilience, courage, and the enduring need for love and acceptance, even when the world seems determined to shut its doors.
