About this listen

ONE REMARKABLE WOMAN.

OVER 30 YEARS OF FOSTERING.

THE STORY OF ONE CHILD SHE COULD NEVER FORGET.

The true story of a troubled boy with a dark secret…

Seven-year-old Reece is the last of six siblings to be taken into foster care. He can't cope with school and is often excluded for his violent and aggressive outbursts. But behind that anger is a kind little boy with secrets – he's just too scared to tell.

When Reece arrives at Cathy's door, he has already passed through the hands of four different carers in four weeks.

Cathy wants to find the answers for Reece’s distressing behaviour, but he has been sworn to secrecy by his mother, and will not tell them anything. As the details of his short life emerge, it becomes clear that to help him, Cathy will face her biggest challenge yet.

Perfect for fans of Cathy Glass, especially readers of Helpless, Unsafe and Unwanted.

What a powerful story this was, I have listened to numerous stories from Cathy Glass & this is one of the most shocking. Those poor children but Cathy has got a heart of gold not giving up on this poor boy. The social services are stretched we know but for them to not let carers know the full facts is absolutely disgusting, if it wasn't for these wonderful carers where would they be & for them to not give all of the facts is disgusting. Well done Cathy for working with so little history on these poor boy.
