Atlee and her assistant, Carol Blum, discover the truth. But the truth hurts. And hurt makes you tough. So how tough do you have to be to forgive?

Critic reviews

Multilayered and brutal, this is a fitting conclusion to Pine’s quest – but hopefully not the last we’ll see of her
Baldacci excels as a storyteller when it comes to FBI agents with baggage. He also knows how to craft a complex and compelling case for his stellar heroes to solve (Daily Mail on Long Road to Mercy)
A fabulous new character from a master storyteller. Readers will love Atlee Pine (Jane Harper, bestselling author of The Dry, on Long Road to Mercy)
FBI Agent Atlee Pine is a heroine I'll never forget (Tess Gerritsen, bestselling author The Spy Coast, on Long Road to Mercy)
A multi-layered protagonist; a plot as deep and twisty as the setting (Kathy Reichs, bestselling author of the Temperance Brennan series, on Long Road to Mercy)
A riveting brain-teaser as well as serving up vivid action scenes (Sunday Times on Daylight)
One of the all-time best thriller authors (Lisa Gardner, New York Times bestselling author of One Step Too Far)
Baldacci delivers, every time! (Lisa Scottoline, bestselling author of What Happened to the Bennetts)

I have enjoyed everyone of these books what a gritty heart stopping ending brilliant David Baldacci now on my author list, well done narrator Brittany Pressley for bringing the characters to life with brilliant emotional verbal expressions made me tearful at times.

Well worth the listen, couldn’t wait to get time to listen to it every day

Great story

This series tries for a feminist showcasing of strong and hard women but fails for me (as a female listener). When was the last time a male lead character had to fight back tears every few minutes? Or a male assassin wells up with tears talking about their childhood? The implied sisterhood (women stick together because they're women) is also a bit trite.

That said, it's an intriguing story that unfolds at just the right pace so worth a listen if you can tune out the girl power overtones.

Bit sexist but otherwise entertaining

I was concerned the stories would drag out but far from it. No idea whats happening next with all the twists! Really enjoyed it.

Great Ending to the Trilogy
