An old villain. A new plan. And a quest that is… surprisingly wholesome. Probably.
Can you teach an old villain new tricks? ELM is about to find out.
Tired of being feared, loathed, and generally misunderstood, ELM decides it's time for a rebrand. His first step is attending a Villain's Anonymous meeting, where he discovers something shocking. There might actually be a way to do some good.
Naturally, he chooses the strangest quest available.
Determined to make his mark as a hero, ELM sets out to recover Leftbeard's Treasure, a legendary hoard consisting entirely of stolen left socks from across the Beandom. The problem is that everyone who knew anything about the treasure is long dead.
Which means he needs a necromancer.
With the help of Grandmother Grimma, an expert in raising the dead and offering unsolicited advice, ELM begins a quest filled with questionable allies, inconvenient truths, and a growing suspicion that being good might be harder than being evil.
Because no matter how hard he tries, the pull of his old ways is never far behind.
As the adventure unfolds, ELM must decide who he really wants to be. A hero in the making, or the same old villain he has always been.
In this hilarious and surprisingly heartfelt installment of the Wonderful Week for a Quest series, redemption is messy, treasure is questionable, and socks are far more important than they should be.
Perfect for readers who love:
- Humorous fantasy with quirky, offbeat heroes
- Redemption stories with plenty of chaos
- Absurd quests with unexpected heart
- Fast-paced adventures full of wit and imagination
For fans of Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, and fantasy that embraces the ridiculous.
He set out to become a hero. He might still end up a villain. Either way, someone is finally going to find those socks.
