About this listen
Everyone knows how bad smoking is for them: about half of all regular cigarette smokers will be killed by their habit, but they just can't seem to give up. If you're really serious about giving up smoking then this is the book that will not only help you to stop, but to stay stopped for good.
Gillian Riley's techniques allow you to understand your addiction, take control and break your habit. There is a step-by-step giving up programme that is easy to follow and really works. Even in stressful situations, or when boredom sets in, you'll soon realise that even though the freedom and opportunity to smoke is there you have chosen not to. How to Stop Smoking and Stay Stopped for Good will even help you to give up smoking without gaining weight.
Critic reviews
Would you consider the audio edition of How to Stop Smoking and Stay Stopped for Good to be better than the print version?
I gave up smoking May 2013 using this audiobook (over a year). I have tried everything and it hasnt worked. Now it may have been partly due to other things (youtube vids, gritted teeth etc) but I think this book was the deal clincher! What other book might you compare How to Stop Smoking and Stay Stopped for Good to, and why?
Bit like Allen Carr but i preferred Gillian everyday of the week! What about Jerome Pride’s performance did you like?
Not bad - very listenableIf you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
What a drag - 20 years of smoking,,,Any additional comments?
It is no magic cure - read it, and re-read until you feel ready to quit - good luckWell it worked for me

At any moment the person quitting has a choice, they are free to return to the addiction for the rest of their life. Or choose to accept a momentary experience of desire. The book talks about making this choice repeatedly during the craving moments.
It changes how you view a craving from something to be feared, that will be painful and scary or a 30 second choice to make either to go back to using nicotine or choose to accept the craving.
This too shall pass.
Accept the desire
