I thought it was a lovely blend of heyer-esque romance and modern storytelling. I didn't want it to end!

I really enjoyed this book, it’s just as good as Sophie Irwin’s first. I do agree with what other reviewers have said - the narration doesn’t quite do the story justice. At first it felt like the narrator hadn’t properly read the book, and frequently emphasised the wrong parts of sentences which was a bit jarring. But I’m glad I persevered - the narration improved and didn’t get in the way of really enjoying the plot.

Really great story

I enjoyed the story, maybe it was a bit long winded but the narration was slow and the pacing wasn’t right with pauses in odd places. Even on x1.2 it felt dragged, I wish I had stuck to just reading this one as the narration really effected my enjoyment of it unfortunately

I really wanted to love this

Love a good period drama and this didn't disappoint. The characters are portrayed brilliantly, I am always in awe of someone who can portray different characters convincingly like this as I would never be able to do so myself. Thoroughly recommend.

Addictive listening
