A change of scene or a change of heart?

When your boyfriend calls you impulsive, what do you do?

If you’re Jenny Porter, you dash off to Scotland determined to save a failing textile mill, of course.

That’s how Jenny finds herself having awkward encounters with the abrasive but disconcertingly attractive Ross Grant.

And then, just as things between Jenny and Ross develop into something more interesting, her boyfriend Henry arrives in Scotland.

Should she do the sensible thing and follow Henry back to London?

Or might her Highland adventure be more than just a fling?

‘Thank goodness for Katie Fforde, the perfect author to bring comfort in difficult times. She really is the queen of uplifting, feel good romance.’ AJ PEARCE

Great story as always by Katie fforde, One of my all time favourites however narrators highlands/Scottish Accent sounded more irish!

Great story

The Scottish accents in this were horrendous! I'm sure the narrator has many other strengths. The storyline is good for escapism.

Bad accents by narrator

Loved this story but the accents put on by the reader are awful, not only are they bad but not even consistent through the book. I persevered but it annoyed me to the end!

Terrible accent!

One of my favourite Katie afforded books, however the Scottish accent in this is actually offensive, sounded more like bad Irish . Being Scottish myself it was painful to listen to. Apart from that was very good.

Scottish accent awful.!!

Thiw was a nice story but the narrator read way too slowly for my taste so I ended up listening at 1,25x speed. It's the best I've read by Fforde so far. She does a great job giving you a sense of the cold weather in Scotland, nice description of scenery and nice portrayal of snobs. I got to learn about felt and alpacas. The romance was ok. It was a bit annoying that the main character kept thinking about what her boyfriend would think of her in every situation she found herself in.

narrator turned me off but the story is nice
