… why, in the third book, does Harry suddenly sound like he’s contracted a serious stomach ache?! Otherwise very good!

I love the authors style of writing - well paced, concise and descriptive without drifting into over elaboration.

My only concern is that the plots of the second two stores in the Maddy Ives series have drifted into the slightly far fetched area, and I’m hoping that they return to the grittiness of the first one - which was one of the best police procedurally I’ve read.

This is the third book by Chariie Gallagher that I have listened to in the Maddie Ives series. They get better each time.
Perfect narration by Antonia Beamish, with the right amount of humour and suspense.
I'm going to get right onto book 4 NOW!

From the opening of a young boy, found covered in blood to the final terrifying ending this storyline had me gripped.

The characters were brought to life by an exceptionally clever narrator.

I have just downloaded book 4 .. have literally listened to 1book per day.. absolutely loved this series.. love the characters..flaws and all.. good storylines.. exciting and fast paced .. Gory at times.. (be prepared!!) .. looking forward to listening to the whole series..
