Former social worker Elle Castillo is the host of a popular true-crime podcast that tackles cold cases of missing children in her hometown. After four seasons of successful investigations, Elle decides to tackle her white whale: the Countdown Killer, or TCK.
Twenty years ago, TCK established a pattern of taking and ritualistically murdering girls, each a year younger than the last. No one’s ever known why - why he stopped abruptly with his 11-year-old victim, or why he followed the ritual at all.
Weeks into her new season, Elle sets out to interview a listener promising a tip, only to discover his dead body. When a child is abducted days later, in a pattern that looks very familiar, Elle is convinced TCK is back. Will she be able to get law enforcement on her side and stop TCK before it’s too late?

I wasn't sure what I wanted to listen to, then I came across Girl 11. I read the blurb and decided it sounded like a book I might like.
I did enjoy the story; the storyline kept me engaged, and with the twists and turns, some I never saw coming. L the main character is written well, and you can really feel their struggle. She does have a bit of it's all about me, but I think that's down to her own issues we discover along the way. It did feel like I was listening to a podcast. Her husband does feel like he's just a thrown-in character. His bits on the podcast are informative, but it feels like the husband tag was just thrown on.
Unfortunately, the last quarter of the book feels like it is just rushing to the end, and though we get a conclusion, it doesn't feel quite right, especially as, personally, it feels like a lot of characters just suddenly like and trust L when that had been broken before. I am not sure I would buy a physical book, only because this audio version is narrated by multiple people, each giving voice to the characters we meet.
It's starts good then lets you done.
